Dump & Run Recycling Program Volunteer
Help keep multiple semi-trailers worth of used, but quality goods out of Champaign-Urbana’s dumpsters and landfills each year. This program runs through early May and early August with the collection of donations and ending with the BIG sale in late August. Volunteer 6+ hours and get first dibs on stuff at the volunteer pre-sale in August! There are many ways to get involved as a Dump & Run recycling volunteer. Learn more here.
Video/Film volunteers will mainly work with current or recent film, taking video of events, interviewing our past alumni for the "Telling Stories," the Y's oral history project and uploading edited work YouTube. Some interviews of current staff and students may be included, as well as archival footage if any can be converted. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
We are looking volunteers interested in advertising for upcoming Y events on campus. We'd love to have your help with advertising all semester long! This would include postering, flyering, and chalking all over campus. We'll supply what you need. Please email email@example.com for more information.
Event Photography Volunteer:
Like taking pictures? The University Y always needs photography volunteers to help document all of the exciting happenings in and around the Y.
Need to borrow a camera? No worries, we have a camera you can check out. Please email Megan at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
Through Immigrant-Friendly Communities, a global engagement initiative of the Y, there is always a need for volunteers to serve as interpreters or translators in community advocacy contexts. We are seeking volunteers with a proficiency in Spanish, Q’anjob'al, or French. The Y is also interested in learning more about your knowledge of other languages as well. Interested? Please email email@example.com for more information.
