The University Y is a powerful association of campus and community members committed to bringing about lasting personal and social change. With a focus on nurturing the potential of college students and providing opportunities to give back and support neighbors, the Y enables communities to be connect, confident, and vibrant.
The University Y engages approximately 8,000 people each year in the 20 communities it serves which includes the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Champaign County, Illinois, other service areas across the United States, and Sierra Leone.
The Y offers programs, services and initiatives focused on cause-driven leadership development and social responsibility according to the unique needs of the communities it engages.
The Y is accessible to all people. Financial assistance is offered to individuals and families who cannot afford membership.
The Y is guided by four core values: caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
