Office Support Specialist, Diversity & Social Justice Education
“I’ve been coming to the Y since I was a child. My mom worked here, and the residents would come over for dinner sometimes. It has always felt like one big family and a second home. Through interfaith events with the Y I have reached a greater awareness and learned so much. You don’t know what you don’t know. My faith is very important to me as a Baptist. The more I learn about others, the stronger I become in my faith and the more astounded I am about how similar we all are. I can go to other places of faith and hear what they are about. I wish everyone had the opportunity.”
This project was made possible by a grant funded by Team Up, a national collaboration between Catholic Charities USA, Habitat for Humanity International, YMCA of the USA, and Interfaith America.
