Noi Phetchareune
Proprietor, Y-Thai Eatery
“There's no better way to catch up than enjoying a meal. I get to know all types of students by serving my food on a personal level. I hear their stories and where they are coming from. I talk to international students about their experiences in a new place. My food reminds them of what they used to eat back at home...This is a family restaurant: the recipes I use are my mom’s recipes. Food brings people together, just like it does at home when you converse and eat with family. Everything is in one building here: we talk to our neighbors and meet new people here. I’ve seen Murphy Lounge full of people eating, and they invite strangers to come and sit with them. There's no place comparable to the Y.”
