“The Y creates an openness for people of any faith tradition. St. Andrew’s has held weekly evening prayer and dinner at the same time as a Ramadan call to prayer and iftar dinner across from us. It’s beautiful what can happen in the same space at the Y. I’ve connected with community members who would not typically walk into a church who share my values. At the Y, people who strive for justice and peace find connection and and work together to engage the community. When St. Andrew’s is rebuilt, I still plan on holding office hours across the street at the Y to keep building these relationships.”
