Rev. Cindy Shepherd
Green Team Director, Faith in Place
“I love how the Y connects people with one another. As someone working for an interfaith organization, it’s important to meet people coming from different faith traditions and talk about issues of the day. The Y brings together different facets of the community – from income to political affiliation. Conversations that happened thanks to Y organizations, such as Interfaith in Action, gave me a place to listen and talk to people about different environmental issues. Interfaith work is not always about the lowest common denominator, it's the particular and unique parts of our religious traditions that motivate people of faith to be a part of environmental justice and join the movement.”
