Jim Young

Jim Young is a retired United Methodist Pastor. He has been active in the University Y both as a student and later as a staff member. He attended the U. of I. from 1965 to 1970, graduating with a B.A. in American Intellectual and Cultural History. He was a student member of the Board of Directors (1968-1970) and was a Program Staff Member (1970-72). Upon leaving C-U, he worked with the Citizen Action Program in Chicago from 1972-76. He then attended Chicago Theological Seminary, and served a number of United Methodist churches, largely in the Chicago area. Taking a brief break from serving churches, he served as the University Y's first Director of Operations (1989-90). He retired in 2009 and has served on the Board of Trustees since 2010. He currently lives in Urbana.
