Lauren Haynes

Lauren Haynes (she/hers) is currently Group Product Manager at Code For America, where she works to help folks get access to Safety Net benefits like SNAP and Medicaid through technology. She previously worked at Arity leading the Smart City efforts in working with governments and telematics data, the Center for Data Science and Public Policy at the University of Chicago as Associate Director, working with governments and nonprofits on Data Science for Social Good projects across a variety of issues from criminal justice, public safety, environment, education, and more. Prior to U Chicago, Lauren was Product Manager at GiveForward, IT Manager at the Ounce of Prevention Fund (now Start Early), and a technology consultant at Accenture’s Technology Labs. Lauren graduated from University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign with a BS in General Engineering, focusing on Computer Science and Human Computer Interaction and active Alternative Spring Break participant and board member.

Lauren previously served on the Board of Directors for BreakAway, an organization focused on developing student leadership. For the last 6 years, she has participated in the Chiditarod, an urban costumed shopping cart bar crawl race, with her team raising over $37,000 in 2021 to support organizations addressing food insecurity throughout Chicago. She is also an avid swing dancer (specifically Lindy Hop) and board gamer.
